AITP has a dynamic membership of more than 10,000 student, interim, and professional members. AITP represents Information Technology Professionals worldwide. The organization is dedicated to the advancement of its members through networking, legislative activity, and a broad range of educational programs.

AITP has been a trailblazer in the Information Technology field since its infancy. Among its many accomplishments, AITP was the first to establish a professional certification program: the Certificate in Data Processing (CDP) examination, now administered under the ICCP. AITP is the sole provider of the Professional Development Program in North American.

Through its Education Foundation, AITP has developed a model curricula for undergraduate Information Technologies education. These curricula are now at more than 300 colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

AITP is a source of continuing education for IT Professionals and the general public. AITP provides a growing network of chapters and Special Interests Groups through which knowledge and ideas are freely exchanged.
